An Inside Look at the Hot Air Balloon Festival

I am confident we were watching the same thing but these guys from the media obviously had way better view of the hot air balloons than the public who had to deal with the fence and some blocking tents, not to mention great cameras to picture the balloons with.

Check out this video posted at Inquirer.net VDO to really appreciate the grandeur of the scene.

14th Hot Air Balloon Festival at Clark

It is not only information and trainings which improve us. Sometimes, a good sight uplifts the spirit more and fuels us to greater heights. This is why I felt really lucky attending a workshop at Clark Air Field in Pampanga just when they were holding a very special event.

I was there on opening day, February 12, and before the sun rose, to watch the Hot Air Balloon Festival, a four-day event dubbed as a "weekend of everything that flies". I say I saw all those colorful giant balloons get inflated and rise up to the air right after sunrise.

It was a very colorful sight, something which my 6-year old son would have loved to see. Nevertheless, I took tens and tens of pictures with my not-so-high-tech digital cam for him to see. See the video of them pictures above.

The event actually runs 'til tomorrow, February 15. You can see not only the balloons but also lots of other aviation shows and exhibits, including sky divers, plane exhibitions, etc. Everything there is a testament that man has really conquered the sky.

Training for Less

I have earlier posted that the HarryPound Company offers trainings usually priced at P3,000 for a one-day session and P6,000 for two days. But, guess what, Training for Less, a division of the HarryPound Company is now offering trainings at a much, much cheaper fee.

On February 23, they will be conducting back-to-back credit and collection seminars entitled "Improving your Collection Efficiency" composed of two parts, namely, Basic Sales Management and Leading Successful People.

The cool thing is that, if you register on or before February 8 and pay within the assigned dates for this seminar, you will be paying only P1,499 plus VAT. If you register on or before February 14 and pay within the assigned dates, you will be paying only P1,699 plus VAT. On site, you will have to pay P1,999 plus VAT.

I think that is quite affordable. To reserve, call 5344488 or 5244565, or email trainingforless@harrypound.com. Watch out for more Training for Less offerings here at Pinoy Seminars.

PC Troubleshooting and System Recovery Seminar

Here is something we all need to know in this modern age of technology. The ACE IT Learning Solutions will conduct a "PC Troubleshooting and System Recovery Day" seminar on March 22, 2009 for a very low fee of P800.

The fee will cover the training itself, refreshments and lunch, handouts, utility software and installers, as well as the training certificate. To sign up, just fill up their online reservation form and wait for instruction on the downpayment due at least 7 days before the training day.

From their website, it seems ACE IT Learning Solutions also offers other IT seminars like PC Assembly and Basic Troubleshooting, Administering Windows 2003 Server, Basic Computer Forensic, Adobe Photoshop CS3, among others.

By the way ACE IT Learning Solutions is a TipidPC official training partner.

Real Estate Seminar Review by REBAP-QC

Someone from the Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines - Quezon City Chapter informed us, by posting a comment on this blog, that they will be conducting a Comprehensive Real Estate Semiar Review on March 21, 28, and April 4, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Max’s Restaurant, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

According to the comment, the seminar fee will be P3,500. Their primary purpose in conducting the review is to give the participants a better understanding of existing laws and practices concerning real estate, realty service/brokerage, and to assist individuals who wish to take the government licensure examination on May 31, 2009.

For those interested, REBAP-QC's contact no. is 376-2472.

Great trainings at the HarryPound Company

Guess what, I have been receiving lately a lot of emails from seminar providers regarding their upcoming offerings. I believe it is because of the growing readership of this blog, Pinoy Seminars.

More and more people who are searching the internet for information and on trainings and seminars are ending up with this humble blog. We continue to strive to provide them with as much information as possible.

One provider I have been hearing from is the HarryPound Company. Although their offerings are a bit pricey, they do offer very relevant trainings. For February 2009 alone, they will be conducting seminars on Proactive Strategies on Averting Sales Slump, Selecting Competent Subordinates, Sales Coaching and EQ Amid Crisis, Mastering Practical English Grammar and Management Basics for New Managers and Supervisors.

Of the above, my personal pick would be Master Practical English Grammar. This blog will probably read better if I attended that one.

List of free WiFi hotspots in Quezon City

For the reason that I have a new laptop (clap, clap), I have been compiling a list of free WiFi hotspots in Quezon City where we can access the net at no cost.

Interestingly, I learned that the two of the most "covered" areas are the Tomas Morato area and the Trinoma Mall at North Avenue, Quezon city.

Note that I got all these from various sources on the net and that I have no idea if indeed there are actually hotspots in the areas listed, or of the quality of the connection if indeed there is any. I will have to rely on the comments of readers to confirm all these.

I intend to come up with the most comprehensive list of free WiFi hotspots in Quezon City for easy reference of people needing free internet access. If you have any personal experience with any of these hotspots, kindly comment and tell us about it.

Blogging plans in 2009

To those who noticed, I have not been attending to this blog, or to all my other blogs for that matter, for more than a month now. I did not really plan to be away for so long but things happened and before I knew it, I missed the "new year" celebrations altogether. I mean, on this blog at least.

But February has always been special to me. It was in late January and early February of 2007 when I started this blog. It was also in February of last year, 2008, when I started working as a technical consultant of a government department. In fact, way way back, it was also in February when I started working as accountant of one of this country's anti-graft bodies.

With that in mind, I intend to make this February the start of another fruitful year. I have lots of plans and hope that I will be able to implement them the way I planned them to be. Welcome to 2009.
