The will to blog again

The year 2012 was an eventful year for me. Still, there were many things that I completely failed to do and one of them is blogging. Funny but my last post in this blog, Pinoy Seminars, was in early 2012. I remember I was planning to revive my blogs then at the start of the year. Fail.

Early this year I listed around 20 to dos in 2013 and again blogging is one of them. I had modest success in the past, getting traffic here of people wanting to improve themselves through seminars and trainings in the Philippines, and I did earn a few checks from blog ads. I resolve to regain that.  Expect to see not only Pinoy Seminars but also Bol-anon alive again.

Blogging plans in 2009

To those who noticed, I have not been attending to this blog, or to all my other blogs for that matter, for more than a month now. I did not really plan to be away for so long but things happened and before I knew it, I missed the "new year" celebrations altogether. I mean, on this blog at least.

But February has always been special to me. It was in late January and early February of 2007 when I started this blog. It was also in February of last year, 2008, when I started working as a technical consultant of a government department. In fact, way way back, it was also in February when I started working as accountant of one of this country's anti-graft bodies.

With that in mind, I intend to make this February the start of another fruitful year. I have lots of plans and hope that I will be able to implement them the way I planned them to be. Welcome to 2009.

The search for Pinoy Seminar Mentors is on

I have been going through a lot of challenges these days that I have not been able to update my blogs lately. I was not even able to "celebrate" the first anniversary of this blog, Pinoy Seminars. On January 20, 2007, I first posted on this blog:
Today, I start a new endeavor. I do this with a very clear goal in mind, something that I would rather keep to myself for now. Everything else is just implementation.

Despite all the distractions, I remain committed to making this blog work. I feel that in the past year I have had some success in finding a niche, getting some traffic, as well as in earning reasonable income.

I am now ready to raise my blogging to a higher level. I invite everyone, especially more experienced bloggers, to review Pinoy Seminars in your blogs and and tell me how to make this blog be of greater service to others, get more traffic and earn additional income.

In exchange for your generosity, I will be choosing the most constructive and helpful reviews and award the author/s the Pinoy Seminar Mentors Award with a permanent link from my sidebar and even posting privileges here at Pinoy Seminars.

While this may not be much, I am sure that this exercise as well as the award will be a testament to Pinoy bloggers' good heart and willingness to share knowledge with others.

Review me. Positive, negative, it does not matter. I will thank you nonetheless.

Note: This will be a continuing exercise. Please advise me thru a comment if you have posted a review anywhere on the net. Thank you.

Pinoy Seminars' new look

I was absent from this blog for quite some time and I felt it would be nice to celebrate my return and the new year with a new template. Besides, I was not quite comfortable with the previous template because it was the same design used by other more popular blogs/sites.

Together with the new template, I am also restarting and redesigning my blogroll into a "link exchange" list. This time around, I intend to list only related blogs willing to list Pinoy Seminars in exchange. I think it would better that way. The list should be up in a few hours.

This year will be a really new year for me as I have decided not to renew my contract with my last employer. I did so after so much thought and reflection. I still do not know yet where I will end up working, but for now, I intend to spend whatever extra time I have on my blogs. There is therefore reason to expect new things from this blog.

My 100th post

This post is another milestone for this blog. It is actually my 100th post since the first one on January 20 of this year. In that first post I said:
Today, I start a new endeavor. I do this with a very clear goal in mind, something that I would rather keep to myself for now. Everything else is just implementation.

My goal really was to earn from blogging and for a long time I thought I was going nowhere. But a few days ago, I got my first Adsense pay through Western Union. With that, I guess I can say I've achieved my initial goal.

Moreover, I feel I did not just achieve my original target. I also learned a lot in the process and have evolved as a person, hopefully for the better. The few regulars who have been visiting this blog can surely attest that Pinoy Seminars has gone through a lot of experimentation.

With these experimentation, no one was more blessed than the blogger behind. I thank everyone for supporting a "newbie" blogger like me and for bearing with my experimentations. Now off to my 200th post. Merry Christmas everyone.

Technorati favorites exchange

Around three months ago, I created this blog supposedly with a clear goal in mind. In my first post, I said "Today, I start a new endeavor. I do this with a very clear goal in mind, something that I would rather keep to myself for now. Everything else is just implementation." Haha. To be honest, my goal then was to make this blog an earning blog. Big mistake.

I learned quite fast that it is not that simple, not that easy. I also learned that there is this thing about blogging which makes it worth your while even if you are not earning. For one, you get to improve your writing skills. Second, there is the feeling of satisfaction in being able to share information, no matter how unimportant, with your readers, no matter how few. My goal now is to make this blog a useful site to as many readers as possible.

In order to reach more people, I have decided to participate in a Technorati favorites exchange. My objective is to increase the possibility of people finding this site through search engines. Hopefully, once they'd chance upon this blog, they will find some useful information and come back. I'm sure other newbie bloggers would like that for their blogs too.

So, if you'd want to exchange "technorati favorites" please add this blog to your Technorati favorites and leave a comment on this post with the url of your blog. I will gladly return the favor. If you want, you may also participate in a similar and bigger exchange at Dosh Dosh. Let's see if the experiment works.

Cravings of a person like me

I've been thinking about what to write here on this blog. For starters, I want this to be focused. I plan to just write on say 5 or 6 main topics, things that I too am genuinely interested with. For now, these would be (1) trainings and seminars, (2) entrepreneurial skills (negosyo to the common pinoy), (3) computer and internet tips, (4) distance learning, (5) survival and travel guides, and (6) some entertainment like plays and movies showing around.

New undertaking

Today, I start a new endeavor. I do this with a very clear goal in mind, something that I would rather keep to myself for now. Everything else is just implementation.
